AGPN Board Elections 2009 – Election Results

Elections have been held for the following four GP Director positions on the Board of the AGPN in 2009:

• Queensland GP Director
• South Australia GP Director
• Victoria GP Director
• Western Australia GP Director

AGPN’s Non-GP Director is also due to retire following the 2009 AGPN Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The voting period for lodgment of postal ballots closed on Friday 28 August 2009. 

Counting of votes took place on Monday 31 August 2009.  AGPN’s legal counsel from Minter Ellison Lawyers counted the votes with AGPN Company Secretary.


Successful Candidates

The successful candidates are:

• Queensland GP Director: Dr Ross Hetherington
• South Australia GP Director: Dr Alison Edwards
• Western Australia GP Director: Dr Mike Jones

There was only one nominee from Victoria, thus the Victorian GP Director, Dr Amjad Hussain was elected unopposed.

All incoming Directors will commence their position following conclusion of the 2009 AGPN Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The AGPN Board will consider the AGPN Non-GP Director position at a future meeting.
