The Australian General Practice Network (AGPN) is the peak national body representing 110 general practice networks and eight state based organisations around the country. The Network has a membership of about 90 percent of General Practitioners (GPs) at the local level. The Network delivers local heath solutions through general practice.
AGPN was established after a 1998 Commonwealth Government General Practice Strategy Review recommendation that a national organisation be established for the Network.

AGPN aims to promote the health and wellbeing of Australians through general practice networks, including by:
AGPN receives funding from the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing and other sources to manage National Programs for the Network to support general practice locally and to improve the health of all Australians.
AGPN's programs cover a broad range of primary health care issues, including immunisation, mental health, aged care and practice nursing. These programs aim to strengthen primary health care to better meet the needs of the Australian community. Where appropriate, AGPN works collaboratively with other organisations to develop and coordinate programs.
