Two key documents used to guide the Networks planning and strategic development up until 2011 are:
- the Network Strategy Plan
- the AGPN Strategic Plan
Australian General Practice Network - A strategy for the Network 2007—2011
The Network Strategy Plan provides a common framework for the Network to help promote cohesion and a shared vision for the future.
It has been informed by state and territory level consultations, an advisory group of interested Network Member Organisation and State Based Organisation (SBO) representatives and a national meeting of CEOs and Chairs.
The Network Strategy Plan:
- Sets out clear priorities and focus for the Network for the 2008-2011 funding triennium
- Provides a framework to guide the strategic, business and operational plans of AGPN, SBOs and General Practice Networks,
- Serves as a marketing tool to convey what we stand for, our priorities and future direction,
- Provides a platform to continue to build network profile and capacity, and
- Provides a basis for the Network to frame discussions and negotiations with government.
