The GP Census: is a web-based tool initially developed by General Practice Tasmania. It has been used successfully across Tasmanian Divisions for three years. GP Census automates the surveys of GPs and Practices that Divisions are required to take annually.

There are two parts to the GP Census: a survey for GPs and another for Practices; each survey has a set of workforce questions that are invariable, to provide a national picture of workforce capacity. Because results are aggregated at divisional, state and national levels, GP Census enables the AGPN to take a snapshot of GP workforce participation over the census week.

However, within each of these surveys, Divisions and SBOs can include additional survey items based on their survey and reporting requirements.

AGPN has updated the GP Census for use by the Network, with appropriate access rights for divisional, state and national users.
