Detect and Protect

GlaxoSmithKline Australia has two General Practitioner and Practice Nurse education initiatives, DETECT and PROTECT, specifically designed to improve outcomes for the two million patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) in Australia. 

DETECT

Clinical audit program will assist healthcare professionals assess patients for their response to current COPD therapy in accordance with best practice guidelines and improve clinical care processes in the overall assessment, monitoring and management of COPD. It is recognised for the Quality Prescribing Initiative of the Practice Incentives Program.

PROTECT

An active learning module that will further update healthcare professionals’ knowledge regarding best practice management of COPD and increase their confidence in determining patients warranting clinical management review.

Both programs are free of charge and have been accredited by the RACGP and ACRRM, and an RCNA Approved Provider of Endorsed Courses, as professional development programs.
