Lifestyle Modification Program Dance Workshops
In April 2011, AGPN facilitated an Expression of Interest process for dance workshops funded by the Department of Health and Ageing ( DoHA). The purpose of the dance workshop funding was to enable individual GPNs to support the promotion of the program to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth (15-25 years) in a culturally acceptable format. This was a day event with a qualified instructor and included a discussion of the risks for type 2 diabetes and particularly the opportunity to complete an AUSDRISK assessment. The workshops were conducted from April to May 2011.
