Connecting General Practice to Broadband Guide

Choosing appropriate broadband internet connectivity requires careful consideration, planning and management. Enables clinics to engage securely in a range of eHealth activities. AGPN and the network of eHealth officers within State Based Organisations have a guideline to assist clinics in selecting an appropriate broadband internet connection.

The guide provides suggestions as to the information you need to obtain in order to effectively compare services, and links to sources of additional information on available service offerings, and ensuring that appropriate security and privacy safeguards are in place.

Note that the Broadband For Health program provided an incentive for clinics to access a range of "qualified" services, and finished on 31 December 2007. Clinics that subscribed to the program may consider reviewing service arrangements on completion of contracts initiated under the program.
