These resources were developed as part of the IHPO Workforce Support Project, which you can read about below or download the final newsletter from the project for an update on the outcomes of the project.

IHPO Workforce Support Project

The IHPO Workforce Support Project was a six month project (April - September 2011) undertaken to provide a layer of support to the National Indigenous Health Project Officer (IHPO) role.  This project followed on from the National IHPO Orientation Workshop held in 2010 and was designed to complement the work being done by State Based Organisations (SBO), Divisions and individual IHPOs in sharing and connecting with one another in this important role.

The IHPO Workforce Support Project included the following support activities:

  • Communication with SBOs and Divisions (via online survey) to identify the key steps and resources used to successfully orientate, commence and support an IHPO.
  • Conduct of a peer mentoring online webinar education series for SBOs and invited IHPOs to understand more how to develop peer mentoring relationships and frameworks.
  • Production of five editions of the IHPO Workforce Connections e-Newsletter
  • Commencement of a central online area dedicated to the IHPO role on the AGPN website.

The project is now completed and the resources available as the first stage of general support to the workforce.
